Our Story

It is important to us to develop relationships with you and your pets, companions, and/or livestock to ensure a mutual level of trust and respect so that you can be confident about our recommendations and the quality of care we wish to provide.

We are A Family Practice owned by two veterinarians, husband and wife and it’s our desire to be sure our clients and the veterinary team are treated like family. Furthermore, we wanted to recognize that people's pets are a part of their families and additionally wanted to honor the idea of the family farm. The practice has grown from a single veterinarian as the sole employee to a thriving mixed animal practice with 4 veterinarians and numerous support staff serving the pets, livestock, and families of Northwest Arkansas.

Lunsford Veterinary Services, Inc. was established in 1997 as a strictly ambulatory practice. Within a few years, a 500 square foot space was constructed within the shop at the owner's home to allow for small animal surgeries. In October 2002, Lunsford Veterinary Services, Inc. expanded and moved into a new 5500 square foot small animal facility while continuing to provide primarily ambulatory large animal services and began doing business as Lunsford Veterinary Care Center. A new 3600 square foot large animal indoor haul-in facility was added in January 2020.

The LVCC doctors are focused on their area of interest to ensure that patients receive the best care possible. Dr. Michael is dedicated to performing large animal services, Dr. Niki provides small animal services and Dr. Chelsea Baxley tackles large and small animal medicine. In addition to our doctors, we retain a caring and enthusiastic staff who genuinely shares our passion for animals and their owners. Our diversity places us in the unique position of treating most domestic animals that you may keep as pets, including, but not limited to dogs, cats, cattle, horses, sheep, goats, llamas, alpacas, even a few pigs!
